How to use the Social Swing festival finder
This page explains exactly how the Social Swing festival finder works, so you can browse swing dance festivals, understand the badges, use the right filters, and know what Save Festival and Like this festival actually do before you start clicking.

Seaside Lindy Weekend
- Badges help you judge the card before you open it.

What Social Swing helps you do
Social Swing is built for people comparing swing dance festivals in real life: where to go, when to go, what looks promising, and what deserves a place in the shortlist.
Open Browse Festivals
Start on Browse Festivals. That is the main directory for swing dance festivals, lindy hop festivals, and related event discovery.
Narrow the list
Use search, month, season, country, continent, year, or style until the directory matches the way you are actually planning.
Save or Like what matters
Use Save Festival for planning. Use Like this festival for reminders and interest. The two actions are intentionally different.
Filters
How to filter swing dance festivals quickly
The fastest way to understand the festival finder is to watch the list narrow. Each filter answers a different planning question.
Search field
When you type a festival name, city, or country, the results narrow to matching festivals. Use this when you already know roughly what you are looking for.
Month and year paths
When you browse by month or year, you are filtering by travel window first. This is the best path when your calendar matters more than the destination.
Country and continent paths
When you browse by country or continent, you are filtering by geography first. Use this when you already know where you want to travel.
Style path
When you browse by style, you are narrowing the directory to the dance focus that matters most to you, including lindy hop festivals and other swing styles.
Try it now
Open the festival finder and test one filter path
Start with the month, country, or style that feels most natural to you. The system becomes obvious as soon as you see the list narrow.
Planner
What Save Festival does
Save festivals to build your personal swing calendar. Access them anytime, from any device. Never miss an event again.
When you click Save Festival
- If you are signed in, the festival is added to your planner.
- The button changes state so you can see it is already saved.
- You can revisit it later on Saved Festivals.
Use Save when the answer is “I want to compare this later”
- Save festivals you may actually travel to.
- Use it when date, city, or timing still needs comparison.
- If you are not signed in, Social Swing asks you to sign in before saving.
Save is the planner shortlist action. It is not the reminder action.

Reminders
What Like this festival does
Like this festival is the reminder action. It is not the same as Save. It is there to help you follow a festival you care about and receive reminders for it.
When you click Like this festival
- If you are signed in, Social Swing can save that like directly and connect it to festival reminders.
- If you are not signed in, a small reminder modal opens so you can log in or continue with email.
- After that, the festival is marked as liked and tied to reminder intent.
Use Like when the answer is “keep me in the loop”
- Use it for festivals you want to follow more closely.
- Use Save for planner comparison and Like for reminder intent.
- That separation keeps the product easier to understand.
Like helps with reminder intent. Save is still the action for your shortlist.
Badges
Festival badges: Featured, Trending, Deal
Badges are quick context. You should be able to understand the card faster before opening the festival page.
Featured = handpicked by Social Swing
Featured festivals are editorially highlighted, so they are a good place to start if you want the fastest shortcut to strong options.
Trending = getting attention right now
Trending tells you the festival currently has momentum, which helps you notice what people are paying attention to right now.
Deal = there is a discount or useful offer
Deal tells you the festival has a practical value cue attached to it, such as an offer, promotion, or related discount path.
Trending sections
How Trending Sections Work
Not all festival listings on Social Swing work the same way. Most Browse sections are chronological, which makes them useful for planning. Trending sections work differently: they help you discover festivals that are popular, relevant, or getting attention right now.
Trending now
This section highlights festivals that are getting attention right now. That attention can come from timing, activity, community buzz, or visibility. Use it to spot what people are currently looking at or talking about — not the festival that comes first in the calendar.
Trending Global
Trending Global takes the same idea worldwide. It surfaces festivals that are attracting attention across countries and scenes, so you can discover standout events beyond your local area even when they are not the next upcoming ones.
Why is it not chronological?
Trending sections are not sorted by date. They are sorted by relevance and visibility — similar to how trending topics work on social platforms, where what gets attention becomes more prominent regardless of when it happens.
This is intentional.
If you want to plan your year chronologically, use the main Browse sections and filters (by month, country, or season).
If you want to discover interesting, popular, or standout festivals, use the Trending sections.
Use Browse to plan your year. Use Trending to discover what’s worth checking out.
Where to start
Recommended by Social Swing
If you are new and do not know which festival card to open first, start with the Recommended by Social Swing block.
Use it as your first click, not your last click
- Open one recommended festival first.
- Read the badges and dates.
- Save the ones that belong in your shortlist.
Browse paths
Browse swing dance festivals by month, season, continent, country, and style
Choose the category path that matches the question already in your head. That is the fastest way to use the directory well.
Search
Search festivals on desktop and mobile
Search is built to get you to the right festival quickly, whether you are using the directory on desktop or opening the mobile search overlay.
Desktop
Type a festival name, city, or country in the Browse Festivals search field, then combine that with the filters already visible in the directory.
Mobile
Tap the mobile search field, type inside the overlay, and tap a result to go straight to the festival page. This makes festival search usable even on smaller screens.

Why Social Swing
Why Social Swing is a better festival finder
It is easier to plan your year when the directory makes the next action obvious: filter, compare, save, like, and revisit.
Clearer than random browsing
You do not have to remember every promising festival manually or keep dozens of tabs open.
Better for lindy hop festival research
Style, country, month, and badges make it easier to compare lindy hop festivals and other swing dance festivals with context.
Built for planning, not just reading
Save Festival and Like this festival give you two different product actions: shortlist planning and reminder intent.
Next step
Plan your year without losing the festivals that matter
Open the directory, filter the list, save the festivals that belong in your shortlist, and use Like when you want reminders for a specific event.
